Inspiration for " THE TOUCHED LEAF " followed triggering events that took place while taking care of people with a handicap - in the broadest sense of the word - within society. As I was practising and giving them Drama lessons, they expressed their vision of handicap and difference with an artistic outlook that was close to reality.
For many years, I’ve been reflecting and elaborating from a real-life subject. As I would have done for writing a work of fiction, I started gathering information on my subject, researching by visiting institutions which mainly accommodate handicapped people.
The forthcoming film deals with difference as a whole and I chose teenagers suffering from autism and psychosis as the fully-fledged main characters of the film.
Finding locations has been necessary from the beginning of the writing process until now ...
I didn't write this script in a state of revolt or sadness since it is also during the birth of this project that my first meeting with the people who will be filmed and who will work on the film will take place. Indeed, these people are now going to become actors : they are going to have to play their own role, from my point of view.
Like in a work of fiction, these people / characters will seduce the public, drive them to identify and to get involved in the story, they will have to create an emotion within the film. Knowing that they really exist, the public will be particularly touched by the heroes of the film.
