In order to allow the integration of the technical crew to be as discreet as possible, it is essential to respect the residents' rites. "La Feuille effleurée" will be shot with a minimal crew. I will take care of both camera work and direction myself. It is best to integrate a resident in the shooting crew as a fully fledged member. He will be the specific narrator in connection to the use of the camera work : shooting axis, framing and writing techniques (the notion of the "camera-pen"). The film will follow the daily life of the residents focusing on art and culture through the four seasons and we will devote a substantial amount of time to talking, sharing this daily life and thinking with the residents and the staff in order to prepare each day of shooting.
The self-produced footage shot during the "Rencontrons-nous" event on June 28th will be used as stock-shots for the film. This event was an occasion to exchange views, meet people and find locations.
It is an essential phase between the residents, the educational staff and the various artists, which will allow to improve the audiovisual writing project, to determine the narrative process and to conceive the sharing of the story-telling between the people who become characters in the story.
Since the beginning of the year 2008, we have received support from several artists such as singer Lokua Kanza, actress Aissathou Thiam and comedian Phil Darwin, who are willing to take part in the making of the film.
Finally, the technical crew is considering the use of the natural light as a resource for the film. The residents will also be involved in the making of the film soundtrack.
